Nikola Jokić delivered another masterclass as the Denver Nuggets secured a 125-116 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night. The Serbian superstar recorded a career-high 19 assists, the most by a center in a single game since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968, MySportDab Reports.
Jokić now sits alongside Chamberlain as the only centers in NBA history to hit such an assist total, with Chamberlain holding the record at 21.
On top of his playmaking brilliance, Jokić contributed 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting, grabbed nine rebounds, and added three steals and a block—becoming the first player in NBA history to achieve that stat line in a game.
He also finished with a +17 plus-minus, tied with Jamal Murray for the highest on the night.
Jokić’s dominance continues to fuel the Nuggets’ rise in the Western Conference. The reigning champions have now won 10 of their last 11 games, reclaiming second place with a 38-20 record.
With 16 triple-doubles in his first MVP season, 19 in the second, and 25 in the third, the three-time MVP needs just one more to set a new personal best.
With MVP buzz growing louder, Jokić and the Nuggets now shift focus to a highly anticipated showdown against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on February 27.
