Real Madrid’s decision on Jude Bellingham’s red card during the Osasuna match on Saturday has been confirmed, MySportDab reports.

The seething La Liga clash at El Sadar was marred with tense moments and controversies.

Tensions peaked when Real Madrid were denied a penalty after Vinicius was brought down in the box. The referee ignored calls for the spot-kick further stoking up the flames of controversies.

In the 39th minute, Jude Bellingham was brandished a red card for dissenting the referee’s decision to ignore two strong challenges on him.

He appeared to be mouthing insults at the referee and this led to him being issued the marching orders.

The decision to send off Bellingham has been met with a barrage of reactions by fans and pundits.

Although the player obviously breached the rules of the game with his dissenting reaction, it is believed he didn’t merit a straight red card.

Carlo Ancelotti was also brandished a yellow card for his x-rated touchline reaction to the officiating in the match.

Meanwhile, Bellingham was expected to miss the next Real Madrid La Liga match due to the red card.

The one-match ban is also understood to be tentative as reports have it that it could be extended by Spanish football authorities if he is found to have mouthed insults at the referee.

Meanwhile, everything could change for the English forward as Real Madrid’s decision on the red card has emerged.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have decided to appeal the red card as they consider it grossly erroneous on the side of the referee.

This means Jude Bellingham’s one-match suspension could be overturned if the club wins the appeal.

Real Madrid stumbled in the La Liga title race in the match, settling for a 1-1 draw after Budimir scored a spot-kick to cancel out Mbappe’s first-half goal.
