Tyrell Malacia To Benfica Move OFF! New Transfer Update CONFIRMED [Details]

Out-of-favor Manchester United wing-back Tyrell Malacia’s future has been thrown into uncertainty once again as the January transfer winds down, MySportDab reports.

The Dutch defender is among names in new manager Ruben Amorim’s chopping block in the transfer window.

He is expected to leave following the acquisition of Paraguayan sensation Diego Leon from Porteno.

Portuguese giants Benfica were strongly linked with a permanent move for the player.

Now, a new update shared by Fabrizio Romano claims the Primeira Liga side have grown cold on their interest in the 25-year-old.

They are now pursuing a move for a younger alternative Samuel Dahl, 21, who plays as a full-back for Serie A giants Roma.

With Samuel Dahl in the frays, Tyrell Malacia’s potential switch to the Portuguese club has been ruled out with the player now expected to scout for other alternatives.

The report adds Manchester United are still ready to part ways with him and are expecting him to leave before the January transfer window closes.

Apart from Benfica, Scottish giants Celtic were also among the big mentions in the race for Malacia.

However, it is still unclear whether they will proceed with the move for the player with a few hours left before the window closes.

La Liga club Real Betis also had interest as well but the state of the proceedings has yet to be ascertained.

As things stand, United have yet to bag an offer for the player. It is understood they are open to both a permanent or loan transfer exit as Amorim gears up for a ride with his acquisitions in the transfer window.

Tyrell Malacia has a year left on his five-year Man United contract with an option for extension. He missed the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign and has managed just 3 Premier League appearances for the club this season.

A move away from the club remains the best option for him to breathe life back into his career.
