Chelsea Women won the League Cup title beating Manchester City 2-1 in a closely contested match, MySportDab reports.
The Blues secured a 2–1 win over City, marking manager Sonia Bompastor’s first trophy in charge and ending a run of three previous League Cup final defeats.
Despite City’s periods of dominance, decisive moments swung the match in Chelsea’s favor who were able to make their opportunities count.

The match started with both teams looking to assert their style on a challenging pitch. Chelsea, intent on breaking City’s rhythm, pressed early on.
A quick counter-attack saw a slick move from Chelsea’s midfield which well organized and timed.
Lauren James and Catarina Macario combined to create space, allowing striker Mayra Ramirez to capitalize.
Although her initial shot was saved, she was alert to pounce on the rebound, slotting home to give Chelsea a 1–0 lead in the 8th minutes.
Manchester City continued to press for an equalizer, testing Chelsea’s defensive organization.
Despite several near misses from both sides, the score remained unchanged at the break with a lot more left to be played.
In the early stages of the second half, City’s Aoba Fujino produced a moment of individual brilliance which saw her score.
After a determined run into the box, she unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the area, leveling the match at 1–1 in the 64th minute.
In the 77th minute, the game finely balanced and City still seeking the lead saw themselves in a critical error which proved costly.
The encounter carried on with Chelsea’s Mayra Ramirez delivered a well-placed cross from the right.
In a moment of misjudgment while attempting to clear, Manchester City’s Yui Hasegawa inadvertently directed the ball into her net, gifting Chelsea a 2–1 lead.
Following the own goal, City pushed hard for an equalizer, but Chelsea’s resilient defense and timely interventions from goalkeeper Hannah Hampton ensured the victory.
