His goal saw him silencing the home crowd and leveling the aggregate score at 1–1 after Liverpool’s slender advantage from the first leg.

Throughout the remainder of normal time, Liverpool pressed hard in search of an equalizer which did not happen.

They created several promising opportunities, with Mohamed Salah and Curtis Jones coming close on several occasions.

PSG’s disciplined defensive organization and standout goalkeeping by Gianluigi Donnarumma cleared all attempts.

As the clock ticked past 90 minutes without further goals, the contest extended into extra time.

Both sides, visibly fatigued after 120 minutes of relentless pressure, exchanged possession but failed to carve out any clear-cut chances, leaving the deadlock intact.

The dramatic climax came in the penalty shootout which was then clear that things could go either way for both teams.

PSG set the tone with a composed finish from Vitinha, while Liverpool’s Salah managed to convert his spot-kick to level the tally.

However, the turning point arrived when substitute Gonçalo Ramos confidently struck low, putting PSG ahead.

Liverpool’s hopes took another blow when Darwin Núñez’s effort was spectacularly saved by Donnarumma.

Dembélé then added another for PSG by firing his penalty high into the side-netting, and when Curtis Jones also saw his effort denied.

Substitute Désiré Doué sealed the victory with an emphatic finish from the penalty spot for his team that made it 1-4.

The result not only ended Liverpool’s European campaign but also showed PSG’s clinical temperament in high-pressure situations.

With their progression secured, PSG now look forward to their next Champions League challenge, while the Reds must regroup ahead of domestic commitments.
