From the outset, PSG asserted control over the game, dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé were particularly threatening on the flanks, consistently challenging Liverpool’s defense.

However, Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, delivered a stellar performance, making several crucial saves to keep the score level.

The game continued in a similar vein, with PSG pressing relentlessly in search of a goal which did not happen.

A notable moment occurred when Kvaratskhelia found the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review deemed him offside.

Despite PSG’s dominance, they struggled to convert their chances, with Bradley Barcola missing several key opportunities.

In the 87th minute, Liverpool manager Arne Slot introduced Harvey Elliott as a substitute for Mohamed Salah.

Remarkably, within 47 seconds of entering the pitch, Elliott scored the game’s only goal which stunned the home side.

Darwin Nunez, another substitute, provided the assist, allowing Elliott to slot the ball past PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

This goal came against the run of play and highlighted Liverpool’s clinical edge when it comes to important moments.
