It was a rollercoaster on Wednesday night as action returned in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League round-of-16 second leg across four centers, MySportDab reports.

Real Madrid locked horns with their city and domestic rivals Atletico Madrid in a thriller at the Metropolitano Stadium while Arsenal, coming off the back of a thumping 7-1 away win in the first leg, traded tackles with PSV Eindhoven.

After settling for a 1-1 draw at home in the first leg, Borussia Dortmund put up an impressive second-leg performance in France to book their ticket in quarterfinals.

In what was the biggest match of the night, Atletico Madrid defeated Real Madrid 1-0 after regulation and extra time to tie the aggregate score (2-2).

Conor Gallagher scored just 30 seconds info the game to give Diego Simeone’s side the lead. The goal dragged proceedings into extra time and then penalties where Real Madrid won 3-2.

 

Lille 1-2 Borussia Dortmund (3-2 aggregate)

Lille lost 2-1 at home to Borussia Dortmund, crashing out of the competition with a 3-2 aggregate defeat. Emre Can scored from the spot to peck the home side to a 1-1 draw after Jonathan David’s opener.

In the 65th minute, Beier, latching on Serhou Guirassy’s assist, completed the comeback, scoring a thunderbolt from inside the box to secure victory.

 

Aston Villa 3-0 Club Brugge (6-1 aggregate)

Aston Villa completed a sensational double over 10-man Belgian side Club Brugge, winning 3-0 in the second leg to secure an emphatic 6-1 aggregate victory.

A brace from Marco Asensio and a goal by Ian Maatsen saw the Villans eased to the victory to seal a spot in the last eight.

 

Arsenal 2-2 PSV Eindhoven (9-3 aggregate)

At the Emirates, Zinchenko and Declan Rice scored as Arsenal drew 2-2 with PSV Eindhoven to book their ticket for the last-8 with a 9-3 aggregate victory. WATCH HIGHLIGHTS HERE
