Manchester City midfielder Rodri has taken a major step in his recovery from an ACL injury, returning to individual training as he pushes for a comeback ahead of schedule, MySportDab Reports.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner suffered the injury just five games into the season and was initially expected to miss the entire campaign.

However, City kept him in their Champions League squad for the second half of the season, fueling optimism over an early return.

While City have since been eliminated from Europe by Real Madrid, Rodri’s recovery remains on track.

On Friday, he was seen training individually on the grass, marking significant progress in his rehabilitation.

Despite City’s struggles without him, manager Pep Guardiola remains cautious about rushing the Spaniard back.

“In my mind, it’s next season for Rodri, but maybe he comes back earlier, that would be good for us,” Guardiola said.

Rodri is reportedly targeting a potential return for the FIFA Club World Cup in July, after the conclusion of the Premier League season. His return would be a major boost for City, who have struggled in his absence.
