Thomas Muller is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, MySportDab reports.
The legendary German attacker is one of the few footballers who have run the full cycle of their careers with a single club.
Muller emerged through Bayern Munich Youth Academy where he learnt the cuts and thrusts of professional football since 2000.
He spent eight years in the Bavarian youth ranks till 2008 and had spells with the club’s reserve team in 2007 before his promotion to the first team.
Since his senior career debut in 2008, Muller has racked up 469 league appearances for the club, scoring 150 goals.
He has won 12 Bundesliga titles, six DFB Pokal, eight DFL-Super Cups, two Champions League, two Super Cup and two FIFA Club World Cups.
Notably, the 2014 World Cup winner was reportedly open to a new contract with the club as he drew close to the expiration of his previous deal.
However, German outlet BILD, reported that Bayern Munich weren’t open to a new deal for him apparently due to age considerations and fitness issues.
Muller has played 870 minutes in 23 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern this season, scoring one goal with three assists.
In the Champions League, he has tallied 10 appearances, scoring two goals plus one assist in 246 minutes of action.
With his spell with the Bayern set to come to an end, it is yet unclear where his next stop will be.
According to reports, retirement is far off the options of the German attacker as he is still eager to continue with his game and could be open to a new challenge in other leagues.
His overall career stats with Bayern Munich stands at 777 appearances in all competitions and 263 goals.
Despite his recent deadlock with the Bundesliga giants, Muller is still considered one of the finest German strikers of all time.
