Arsenal have been held by Brentford to a draw in the 2024-25 Premier League matchday 32 clash, MySportDab reports.
The Gunners went into the game 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool and needed victory to continue snapping at the heels of the Reds in the title race.
However, it appears the London club’s Premier League title hopes have fizzled out finally with just six matches left in the season.
The six-pointer clash against Brentford kicked off on a frenetic tempo with the home side dominating proceedings and looking set to take the lead.
However, they were held in the first 45 by the away side, who settled for the low block to foil the home side’s offensives and held them to a goalless draw at the break.
Meanwhile, Kieran Tierney nodded home a stunner and thought he has given the Gunners the lead but the goal was ruled out for offside after VAR check.
In the second half, they were finally able to find the back of the net after a quick counter. David Raya had played a quick one for Declan Rice who strode forward and found Partey on the right inside the box.
The Ghana international then beat Brentford’s goalkeeper with a thunderbolt from close range to give the hosts the lead.
However, the lead was short-lived a few minutes later. Yoane Wissa scored a brilliant back volley inside the box to make it 1-1.
Yoane Wissa’s strike was enough to secure a point for the Bees as the away side held on to draw the game and ran out a valuable one point.
