Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has dropped titbits on his preferred tactical plan and squad role for Arda Guler after his stellar performance against Getafe, MySportDab reports.
Despite his immense talent, Arda Guler has struggled to nail a regular spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid squad.
Intense competition for places and the immense quality in Los Blancos” attacking and midfield ranks have reduced the youngster to a bit-part role in the squad.
However, each time he is given a chance to play, he will always stun the naysayers by showcasing his brilliance and quality.
The La Liga matchday 34 clash against Getafe on Tuesday night was no different. He made the starting lineup for the first time in weeks and put up a stellar individual display that got tongues wagging.
This impressive performance came to the head in the 21st minute when he scored a rocket from 30 yards out to give Real Madrid the lead.
The goal made all the difference as Real Madrid ran out with a narrow win to secure all points to keep tabs on the race for the La Liga title.
Speaking after the match, Carlo Ancelotti was full of praise for the youngster. The veteran boss lauded the quality and maturity of the 20-year-old.
He also revealed his preferred role for the Fenerbache prodigy to harness his immense potential. According to him, he will deploy the young talent more as a playmaker/midfielder rather than a forward due to his proficiency in the former.
“Arda Güler’s future will be more as a midfielder than further forward, as the quality he has in building up play is phenomenal”.

Guler has been capped 23 times in La Liga this season, scoring two goals plus three assists.
He also won seven Champions League caps and is expected to play in a big role in Los Blancos squad going forward.
