Cristiano Ronaldo thrilled football fans with another showstopping performance as Al-Nassr came from behind to defeat Al-Riyadh in Saudi Pro League matchday 27 cracker on Saturday, MySportDab reports.
Al-Nassr went into the game 11-point behind league leaders Al-Ittihad and needed victory to boost their slender hopes of securing the title.
Hosting Al-Riyadh was expected to be another stroll in the park for the Riyadh-based outfit but it turned out to be another closely contested clash for the home side.
Al-Riyadh struck first in the first half. Comoros and Al-Riyadh winger Faiz Selemani scored in first-half stoppage time to fire the away side into the lead.
Selemani’s strike was enough to separate the tie at the break before Al-Nassr pulled an incredible comeback in the second 45, thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s clutch performance.
Nine minutes into the restart, Cristiano Ronaldo, latching on a brilliant assist by Sadio Mane, scored to level the tie for the home side.
Eight minutes after the equalizer, the footballing sensation sealed the comeback for the hosts, taking his Saudi Pro League goals tally this season to 23 in 26 matches.
The quickfire brace was enough for the Knight of Najd to secure all three points and boost their slender hopes of securing the Saudi Pro League title this season.
Following the victory, they have closed the gap on league leaders Al-Ittihad to eight points and just a point behind second-placed and defending champions Al-Hilal.
