Barcelona have qualified for the 2025 Copa Del Rey final following a 1-0 away win over arch-domestic rivals Atletico Madrid, MySportDab reports.
Ferran Torres’ 27th-minute goal made all the difference as Hansi Flick’s side secure a needed victory to book a place in the final.
The first leg ended in an eight-goal thriller with both teams settling for a 4-4 draw, thanks to Atletico Madrid’s late comeback in the game.
However, the Diego Simeone-led side couldn’t replicate such spirited performance in the second leg despite tremendous support by the home fans.
Ferran Torres broke the deadlock for Barcelona three minutes before the half-hour and the goal was enough to send the away side into the lead at the break.
In the second half, Barcelona still stayed atop proceedings despite leading but reeled under pressure in the final moments.
However, they were still able to hold on and secure the crucial victory and seal their spot in the final.
Notably, the win has seen the team set up what will be a rollercoaster El-Clasico Copa Del Rey final following Real Madrid’s dramatic win over Real Sociedad in the other semifinal matchup.
Overall, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have been impressive in the campaign. They are strongly in the La Liga title race, sitting top of the table and are among favourites to win the Champions League this season.
The Copa Del Rey semi-final win over Atletico Madrid capped what has been a largely brilliant run for the Catalan giants under Flick.
