Bayern Munich’s unbeaten run at Allianz Arena in the UEFA Champions League since 2021 has finally ended, MySportDab reports.
The Bavarians clashed with Inter Milan a cracker Champions League quarter-final matchup and it ended on a disappointing night.
They started the game on a strong footing, dominating proceedings and looking set to snatch victory before the trajectory turned.
Argentina forward Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring for the away side in the 38th minute and the goal was enough to send the visitors to the lead in the first half.
In the second half, Bayern stepped up proceedings trying to find an equalizer but it could not break the deadlock until just a few minutes before the end of the regulation time.
Substitute Thomas Muller scored in the 85th minute to peg the resilient Inter to a draw. However, it wasn’t yet finished.
Just at the last touch of the ball, Inter found a way to restore the lead. Frattesi scored in the 88th minute to fire the Nerazzurri into the lead again.
With a few minutes left on the clock, it was game-over for the Bavarians. After conceding for the second time, they ramped up attempts to find an equalizer but could not find a breakthrough.
At the blast of the final whistle, Inter ran out with an impressive and hard-fought win to boost their chances of making it through to the next round.
Notably, the win ended Bayern Munich’s 22-match unbeaten run in UEFA Champions League since 2021 and they will face a huge task overturning the result in the second leg at the San Siro next week.
