She was born August 24, 1994, in Poway, California, United States. She was born into the family of Katie Plum and Jim Plum.

Her mother happens to be well-known and also an accomplished volleyball player who played for the University of California, Davis.

However, her father was also a footballer who earned the All-American football honors and he also set the CIF San Diego section career passing yardage market at Helix High School in La Mesa, California.

Her parents were both lovers of sports and they did so well that they were recognized in football and volleyball as being good players.

However, this brought her to La Jolla Country Day School which she later chose instead of the Poway High School which her siblings had attended.

She is a Christian by religion and she has a tattoo on her right forearm which she drew in 2018, the tattoo reads “Keep the faith”, she is also an Irish descent.

WNBA Career

She started her career while she was still in high school. She did so well in her team and was able to score a total of 2,247 points, which is likely an average of 19.9 points per game.

She recorded about 677 rebounds, and assisted on 381 baskets. She had about 370 steals, her four years of being in high school her team had a record of 103-22, and this brought them about four section titles.

Kelsey Plum was also selected to the 2013 WBCA high school coaches’ All-America Team, and she performed extremely well, she got six hits of her eight field goal attempts and also scored 14 points.

Her diligence and consistency earned her the honor of being recognized as the McDonald’s All-American and this qualifies her to participate in the 2013 McDonald’s All-American Girls Game.

She was married to her then-heartrob named Darren Waller who is also a football player, although the marriage only lasted for a year before they divorced.

They got married on March 4, 2023, after being in a relationship for some years and they finally decided to walk down the aisle together on April 23, 2024.
