Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season, MySportDab reports.
The Belgian midfield sensation took to his social media handle to confirm his imminent departure from the Premier League champions.
Thanking the fans and the support from the club throughout his career, De Bruyne’s excerpt on IG reads;
“Whether we like it or not, it is time to say Goodbye. Suri, Rome, Mason, Michelle and I are beyond grateful for what this place has meant to our family.”
De Bruyne has exhausted a decade of his career at Manchester City. The 33-year-old joined City in 2015 from Bundesliga club Vfl Wolfsburg.
Notably, the move proved to be the turning point in his career after an initial botched spell with Chelsea from 2012 to 2014.
Arguably, he was quick to established himself as one of the best and creative midfielders the Premier League has ever known.
His major milestones include winning the Premier League Playmaker of the Season four times, including Manchester City Player of the Season four times and the making the Premier League Team of the Season on multiple occasions.
On the European scene, De Bruyne was also on the radar for his elite-level performances and contributions. He has been named on multiple occasions in the UEFA Team of the Year, UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season.
He has tallied 413 appearances for City, scoring 106 goals, providing 174 assists, and winning 16 trophies. His trophy hauls at City include six Champions League titles, two FA Cup, five EFL Cup, two Community Shield and one Champions League.
