Mikel Arteta Reveals Carlo Ancelotti’s SHOCK Statement To Him After Arsenal Knock Out Real Madrid From UCL

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed what Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti told him after Arsenal knocked out Real Madrid from the Champions League, MySportDab reports.

Arteta led an underrated Arsenal to eliminate the defending champions in the last eight of the competition with a thumping 5-1 aggregate victory.

Declan Rice scored twice via free-kicks in the first leg to secure a blowout 3-0 victory while Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli did the damage in the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu to seal victory and fire the team into the last four.

Notably, Arsenal’s thumping aggregate victory over a star-studded Real Madrid side came more as a surprise for fans and pundits.

Real Madrid posed as the overwhelming favourites of the tie, having won the competition for the 15th time last season.

However, Mikel Arteta’s young guns shocked naysayers with a dominant and formidable display in the two-legged tie.

Speaking after the shock 2-1 away victory at Santiago Bernabeu, Mikel Arteta revealed what Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti told him after the match.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, the Spaniard disclosed that Ancelotti said he hoped that Arsenal will win the UEFA Champions League.

“Carlo Ancelotti told me that he hopes Arsenal will win the Champion League,” he said as Fabrizio Romano quoted.

Notably, Carlo Ancelotti will come under pressure following the UCL quarter-final exit. Real Madrid seem to have lost their spark recently. They are trailing Barcelona by four points in the race for the La Liga title.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will play PSG in the semi-finals. The Gunners edged out the Ligue 1 champions 2-0 in the first leg and are favourites to ace the tie and head to Munich for the final.
