Pep Guardiola BLASTS Man United Fans For Attacking Foden’s Mum

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has blasted Man United fans for disrespectful chants aimed at Man City midfielder Phil Foden’s mother, MySportDab reports.

Speaking after Man City settled for a goalless draw against the cross-city rivals, Guardiola said Man United fans should be ‘ashamed’ for aiming abusive chants at Phil Foden’s mother.

”It’s a lack of class,’ said Guardiola afterwards. ‘But it’s not United, it’s the people, you know? We are so exposed, people who are on the screen in world football: managers, owners, and football players especially.”

”Honestly, I don’t understand the mind of the people involving the mum of Phil. It’s a lack of integrity, and class, and they should be ashamed,” he added.

Some Man United fans jeered, calling Phil Foden’s mum, Claire Rowlands, a ‘s**g’ leading to Guardiola’s rebuke.

Foden had a difficult evening at Old Trafford in the match, struggling to get through United’s well-coordinated defence.

He was later subbed off for Jeremy with the jeers getting louder from United fans’ stand.

Notably, United fans’ abusive chant directed at Phil Foden’s mum came in the wake of a 2024 scandal involving the 44-year-old.

The incident involved footage of her being handcuffed and bounced out of a nightclub after clashing with one of the attendants.

She was also filmed confronting the police officers who came for her arrest and mediation of the conflict.

Meanwhile, despite the uncouth public gesture, Foden has always her Claire Rowlands as the force behind his successful football career with Manchester City.

For Guardiola, United fans showed no class and courtesy aiming those chants at Claire as she deserves maximum respect.

Sources close to Manchester United have reportedly made it clear the club doesn’t support such unguarded gestures by the fans.
