Real Madrid have been dealt a fresh injury blow ahead of their 2024-25 El -Clasico Copa Del Rey final, MySportDab reports.
Los Blancos will trade tackles with arch-domestic rivals Barcelona for their second Copa Del Rey trophy since the 2013-14 season.
The match, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, at the Estadio La Cartuja in Seville, will see the two best teams in Spain and in Europe go head-to-head for the coveted domestic trophy.
Notably, Real Madrid will go into this match on the back of a grinding injury crisis lately. Carlo Ancelotti’s key squad members have grappled with crippling injury blows and two more top names have been added to the piling injury list.
Ancelotti confirmed the new injury blow after the team’s 1-0 away win over Getafe in La Liga on Tuesday.
In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, the 64-year-old revealed that Los Blancos will miss the services of Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba in the Copa Del Rey final on Saturday.
According to him, the two players are nursing muscle injuries and are not expected to recover and make the squad for the cracker on Saturday.
“Camavinga and David Alaba have muscle injuries”.
“They are both NOT expected to be ready for the game against Barcelona,” he said.
The two players have been key to Real Madrid’s campaign this season. Camavinga has made 19 La Liga and nine Champions League appearances for the club this season, scoring one goal plus three assists.
David Alaba has endured an injury-hit season with the team this term. He was laid off for months before returning recently and has managed just seven La Liga and five Champions League appearances.
It is yet to be determined when they will be back to action with Ancelotti expected to settle for settle for other options for the Saturday clash.
Notably, while Los Blancos are set to sweat with the latest injury blows, they will be handed a big boost ahead of the match on Saturday.
The team’s top scorer this season and prolific forward Kylian Mbappe, who limped off in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal, is expected to be back for the match.
