Just days after parting ways with Sean Dyche, Everton are set to appoint David Moyes as the club’s new manager, MySportDab reports.

Moyes, who is one of the most experienced and longest-serving managers in the Premier League, lost his job at West Ham at the end of the 2023-24 season following a not-so-stellar run in the English top flight.

He was replaced by Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui, who was recently sacked following a poor start to the season.

With barley six months after his West Ham deadlock, Moyes is set to return to the dugout in the Premier League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Scot have reached agreement with Everton to become the club’s new manager on a two-year contract till 2027.

He will be expected to turn around the club’s misfortunes and return the team to winning ways.

Moyes’ imminent emergence as Everton manager will mark his second return to the club after over a decade.

The 61-year-old began his managerial career in the English top flight with the Toffees in 2002 after a four-year spell with Preston – where he ended his playing  and began his managerial career.

At Everton, he kept the team as one of the potent sides in the English top flight for 11 years and was deemed the best hand to succeed Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 following his impressive stats and stability with the Merseyside club.

However, he couldn’t replicate same at Manchester United and was relieved of his role just a year into his contract.

From Manchester United, Moyes had spells with Real Sociedad in Spain, Sunderland in the Premier League, and then West Ham in 2017.

He led West Ham to 2022-23 UEFA Conference League triumph but was sacked at the end of last season.

Everton are 16th on the Premier League table with 23 points – a point above the relegation zone. The Scot will hope to get the Toffees back to winning ways and avoid being trapped in the relegation battle this season.
