Sergio Ramos is set to return to footballing action after his Sevilla chapter, MySportDab reports.
The Real Madrid legend and former PSG defender was in the brink of wrapping up his epic and prolific career following a deadlock at his boyhood side Sevilla.
Recall Ramos, who began his senior career with Sevilla, returned to the club from PSG on a one-year contract in 2023.
He exhausted his one-year deal and was eager to continue with the club but could not secure a renewal.
At the end of the season, he was a free agent looking for a fresh new chapter. While offers weren’t forthcoming in Europe, he was linked to a move to MLS, including Saudi Arabia.
However, Mexican club Rayados would beat the competition to land the experienced and top-level defender for free.
Now, the club have confirmed the Spaniard as their new signing, unveiling him officially on social media and the club’s official website.
Details of their contract with Ramos is unclear bur close sources reveal it’s a short-term one-year deal.
Regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation, the Real Madrid legend will hope to ace it in the Mexican top flight as he sets out for a new fresh chapter with the club.
Rayados apparently opted for the 38-year-old to leveraged his experience to boost their defense ranks.
Ramos is among the few elite-level defenders with an eye for goal. He has scored 119 goals in 842 club career experiences and will hope to bring his experience to bear in the Mexican top-tier.
