Estupinan delivered a curling free kick that caught goalkeeper Stefan Ortega off guard as the ball struck the post before settling in, leveling the score at 1–1 .

City regained their composure ahead of halftime which saw them taking a different approach in the match in search of the lead.

In the 39th minute, following a quick interplay involving Ilkay Gundogan, Omar Marmoush struck a stunning long-range effort from outside the box, regaining the lead with a powerful shot into the bottom corner .

The goal sparked hope among the home fans that their team might control the game from that point forward.

However, Brighton’s resilience shone through early in the second half which saw them going close on some certain occasions.

The error saw the defender gifting the visitors an equalizer and sealing a dramatic turnaround for them going forward.

Despite numerous attacking opportunities on both sides in the remaining minutes, neither team could find a winning goal.

The result leaves City with lingering concerns over their European ambitions while Brighton gain valuable momentum in their climb up the table.
