Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi could miss the next 12 weeks of football due to an abductor injury, MySportDab reports.

The Nigerian played as a defender in Leicester’s Sunday Premier League against Burnley.

Ndidi missed Leicester’s 2-0 Carabao Cup loss yesterday against Arsenal and Leicester Coach Brendan Rodgers has confirmed the player injury status.

‘It’s a bad abductor injury, it could off the bone and become be a nasty injury,’ Rodgers said.

‘We can only wait now to see if he requires an operation, and that could keep him out for 12 weeks.’

Ndidi has been played as a central defender for Leicester’s first two matches of the new season.

Ndidi has also pulled out of Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly matches.

Meanwhile, Papy Mendy took charge of Ndidi’s midfield position but a surgery will make him miss most of the new season.

On Sunday, Leicester City have a difficult match against Manchester City in the Premier League.
