BREAKING! UEFA Announce Champions League And Europa League Suspension Over CoronaVirus

UEFA have announced all next week’s European games are off due to the CoronaVirus Outbreak which includes the Champions League and Europa League games, MySportDab reports.

 

Manchester City vs Real Madrid is already off with the Spanish club in quarantine following a basketball player at the club being confirmed positive for the virus.

Juventus vs Lyon is also already suspended with the Outbreak in Italy, and now Bayern Munich vs Chelsea, Barcelona vs Napoli is off.

In the Europa League, Rangers’ 2nd leg with Bayer Leverkusen is off and also Manchester United’s home game with LASK, Wolves’ home match with Olympiakos.

MySportDab understands The Premier League are also expected announce the suspension of all matches following most other major leagues games as the pandemic grows.

Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea Star Callum Hudson-Odoi have both tested positive, while Juventus defender Daniele Rugani also.

A statement by Uefa read: “Due to the spread of coronavirus COVID-19 in Europe and related decisions made by different governments, all UEFA matches scheduled next week are now postponed.

“This also included the remaining UEFA Champions League matches, Round of 16 second leg games scheduled for 17 and 18 March 2020; all UEFA Europa League, Round of 16 second leg games scheduledon 19 March 2020; all UEFA Youth League, quarter-final games scheduled on 17 and 18 March 2020.

“Further decisions on these matches will be communicated in due course.

“Due to the postponements, the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League quarter-final draws scheduled for 20 March have also been postponed.

“UEFA invited representatives of its 55 member associations, including the boards of the European Club Association and the European Leagues and a representative of FIFPro, to a videoconference meeting scheduled on Tuesday 17 March to discuss European football’s reaction to the outbreak.”
