Manchester United Coach Solskjaer BLASTS Players, Reacts To 1-0 Arsenal Loss

Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has blamed the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on the lack of fans inside Old Trafford, MySportDab reports.

Solskjaer also slammed his players for not showing what he expected from them as a team.

The coronavirus pandemic is making it difficult for fans to attend Premier League matches.

EPL clubs have now played inside empty stadiums without fans since June 17.

But, Solskjaer believes that having no fans inside the stadium was very crucial in their defeat to the Gunners.

United were on a run of 14 years without defeat against Arsenal at the Theatre of Dreams before Sunday’s game.

Before this season, United won two and drawn two of their four Premier League matches at their home ground without fans.

But this term, they have only gotten one point from four games at Old Trafford.

But, the lack of fans did not matter much when they thrashed RB Leipzig 5-0 in the Champions League.

The lack of home fans hasn’t stopped rivals Liverpool, from continuing a good run.

The Reds matched a club-record run of 63 league matches unbeaten with the win against West Ham on Saturday.

However, Solskjaer said: “Home and away form is different, with no fans here. It’s a big factor, 100 per cent.

“You can’t only look at that, check at the stats, the number of away wins in the league. Maybe 60-40 away wins unlike home wins.

“Home form and away form doesn’t matter too much, we need to get more points on the board.

“Last year, we didn’t get the third win until the 10th match I think, now we’re six matches in and only two, so we must now focus on Everton next week.”

He added: “From the start, we played very poor. The intensity was not there, the shape. They were far better than us.

“They created some half decent chances, second half they did not look like scoring apart from the penalty, we played far better in the second half but still we have to bring in more intensity.”
