Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now provided his final update about the fitness of Captain Harry Maguire, MySportDab reports.

Solskjaer does not think Maguire will be fit enough to play for Manchester United in the Europa League final against Villarreal.

Maguire sustained an ankle injury at Aston Villa on May 9 and has missed United’s last three matches in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old has been attending United’s recent matches on crutches but walked without them for a film premiere at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

However, Solskjaer has some bad news about Maguire being fit to face Villarreal.

“Yes, He’s back walking but it’s far from walking to running sincerely,” Solskjaer said.

“I don’t think he will play in Gdansk, no. But I will give him until Tuesday night, the last training session before the match, to see if he can join us.

‘He’s improving steadily, but ligaments take some time to heal.

“He’s a very crucial person for us in the dressing room and a team leader. Before fans returned, you can hear him from the stands, he still wants the team to do well, he’s organising even on the bench.

“He’ll come with the squad to be with the team in the dressing room, and he’ll make sure we are ready for the final.”

Manchester United travel to Wolves for their final Premier League match of the 2020-21 season on Sunday.

Coach Solskjaer has also ruled out a return for Anthony Martial until next season due to a knee injury.

Scott McTominay and Fred could both return for the Europa League after suffering knocks in the Fulham draw on Tuesday night.
