Pau Torres

Chelsea are now looking at making a move for Villarreal defender Pau Torres in a bid which could see them land the Spaniard, MySportDab reports.

The Blues are still keen on bringing in another defender after Kurt Zouma departure to West Ham United.

Pau Torres is now being eyed by Chelsea who are looking at making the move happen when the winter window opens in January.

They are also reports of the Blues looking at Matthijs De Ligt who could also be another option for them when the window opens.

The Villarreal defender is the latest centre back wanted by the Premier League side who are willing to make the move happen.

Chelsea have turned to Pau Torres as their search for a central defender continues, according to reports reaching us from 90min.

The Blues want more defensive options and having failed to sign Jules Kounde despite reaching an agreement on personal terms.

Chelsea are now looking at the 24-year-old Villarreal player, linked last summer with Manchester United as they are currently weighing their options.

The Old Trafford club couldn’t seal a move as they weren’t ready to meet up with his asking price which they wanted to pay €30 million.

Pau Torres is highly rated, having won the Europa League with Villarreal last season and featured for Spain in their run to the semis of Euro 2020.

The Premier League side won’t easily get to sign the player who is also being targeted by other top clubs in Europe.

The defender is valued at €50 million which is exactly the price Chelsea wanted to pay for Jules Kounde but it was turned down by Sevilla.
