A rape case since 2009 involving Cristiano Ronaldo has been recommended to be dismissed by Judge, MySportDab reports.

The prosecutors decided not to bring a criminal case against the Manchester United player back in 2019 following accusations of sexual assault made against him.

A US judge has recommended that the rape case against Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo should be dismissed immediately.

The forward was accused of sexually assaulting a lady with the name Kathryn Mayorga in a Las Vegas hotel way back in 2009.

Ronaldo has always deny his involvement in any wrong doings and prosecutors decided not to open a case against him saying allegations levelled against him could “not be proven beyond reasonable doubt”.

The case seems to have resurfaced once again as a US judge recommended that the case should be dismissed.

Here Is What The Judge Said;

“It is recommended that Ronaldo’s motion for case terminating sanctions be granted.

“It is further recommended that Mayorga’s action be dismissed with prejudice.

“Dismissing Mayorga’s case for the inappropriate conduct of her attorney is a harsh result.

“But it is, unfortunately, the only appropriate sanction to ensure the integrity of the judicial process.

“Stovall has acted in bad faith to his client’s, and his profession’s, detriment.”

The case against the former Juventus man wasn’t a good one which lasted for years as his lawyers were working all round to resolve the case.

No evidence was found or brought forward about Cristiano Ronaldo committing the alleged crime of assault and rape.

Although charges were dropped and a €375,000 confidential settlement was signed off in August 2010 which saw the case closed.

Responding to the recommendation of dismissal made by Albregts, Ronaldo’s lawyer, Peter Christiansen, said:

“We are pleased with the court’s detailed review of this matter and its willingness to justly apply the law to the facts and recommend dismissal of the civil case against Mr Ronaldo.”
