Frank Lampard could be making his return to managing as Newcastle United is looking at appointing him as their manager, MySportDab reports.

The Chelsea legend has been tipped to make a return to the Premier League after taking a break following his exit from Stamford Bridge last season.

Newcastle United could bring in Frank Lampard as Steve Bruce is likely to get sacked with new owners looking to do an overhaul.

Other names have been drawn up including Antonio Conte and Steven Gerrard who could also be considered as possible candidates.

Frank Lampard’s time with Chelsea ended last season which saw him being replaced by Thomas Tuchel who went on to win the UEFA Champions League title.

Since his sacking, the England International is yet to take on any job despite being linked to Crystal Palace and Celtic of Scotland.

Frank Lampard is the leading candidate to replace Steve Bruce in charge of Newcastle United, according to updating coming from The Sun.

The former Chelsea boss has been out of a job since he was let go by the Blues and replaced with Thomas Tuchel last season during the January window.

Now, however, he could be set for a return to work and maybe the man to take the reins at St James’ Park following the takeover on Tyneside by Saudi Arabia.

This move would also be a good one for the young manager who could build back his career after being dismissed by Chelsea.

Newcastle United at currently linked with moves for high profile players with Mauro Icardi and Aaron Ramsey the latest name to hit their shortlist.

Jesse Lingard is also a key target as the attacker is set to leave Old Trafford on a permanent deal.

It only a matter of time before they become a top team fighting for Champions League football just like Manchester City.
