Paris Saint-Germain have now confirmed that Neymar will miss at least six to eight weeks of football after an Horror injury, MySportDab reports.

The Brazilian suffered ankle ligament damage in the Ligue 1 win over Saint-Etienne on Sunday.

PSG won the match against Saint-Etienne 3-1 thanks to Lionel Messi’s hat-trick of assists.

The win extended their lead at the top of the French Ligue 1 table.

But there was no celebration as Neymar was stretchered off the pitch with an injury in the 85th minute.

Neymar fell down and screamed out in pain to his team-mates and the PSG medical staff after Yvann Macon’s tackle.

The Brazilian forward landed awkwardly on his ankle after the tackle.

Neymar tried to avoid the incoming challenge by jumping but it did not end well.

But, he landed on the defender’s shin and rolled his ankle, which caused so much pain.

Immediately, The medics rushed onto the pitch to help Neymar before taking him off the pitch on a stretcher.

He was then taken down the tunnel to receive further treatment.

PSG Coach Mauricio Pochettino at his post-match press conference said: ‘Right now, there is nothing to say.

‘He felt a lot of pain from the ankle twist. Tomorrow, he will be examined and we will know more about his injury.’

This is a massive blow to Pochettino’s plans over the next few months but PSG already have a 12-point lead at the top of Ligue 1.

They have also secured their place in the Champions League last-16 of the Champions League but can’t finish top of Group A.
