Chelsea are already planning for Antonio Rudiger exit as they eye a potential move for Leicester Wesley Fofana, MySportDab reports.

The Blues are interested in Leicester City centre-back Wesley Fofana as they weigh up their transfer plans amid contract disputes with two of their key defenders.

The 20-year-old is currently out with injury after suffering a broken fibula and ankle ligament in a pre-season friendly against Villarreal that has kept him out till date.

Wesley Fofana

Wesley Fofana is still regarded as one of the best defender under his age category despite him missing out on action since the beginning of season.

Chelsea are looking at him as their possible replacement in case they loss either Andreas Christensen or Antonio Rudiger after the end of the season.

The London club won’t be looking to make a move for Fofana in January but will weigh up a deal ahead next summer transfer window due to his injury.

Leicester City will likely set a huge asking price for the player with his contract not due to expire until June 2025 which won’t see him leave the club for anything less.

Chelsea also have interests in other players who they might be looking to make a move this January window despite knowing they won’t be spending much.

Jules Kounde is still a priority for the Blues who almost signed the France International during the summer transfer window which failed to work out at last minute.

Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt has also been offered to the Blues ahead of a possible summer move which could be another expensive deal too big to happen.

The Champions of Europe are being forced into the market as they have been unable to reach an agreement with the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Both defenders might be leaving when their contract comes to an end after this season as nothing is yet to be agreed between them and the club.
