PSG Set To Put Seven Players Up For Sale (FULL DETAILS)

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly looking for a way to trim their squad this January transfer window, with as many as seven players set to leave the club.

Mauricio Pochettino has a large squad at his disposal in Paris, with 33 players at the club having recorded minutes for the star-studded first team.

The manager has made it obvious that he would like to work with fewer players and L’Equipe now reports that Sporting director Leonardo and club chief Nasser Al Khelaifi are ready to play by his demands.

Reducing the size of the squad is a priority but also the wage bill is a must to cut down which means up to seven players may leave the club.

The most high profile of the names on the list is striker Icardi who has struggled to settle in Paris since moving from Inter, with his marriage crisis believed to be a part of the factors affecting his plays.

Icardi is Pochettino’s fifth choice forward behind Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Angel di Maria and the Parisians are reportedly looking to offload the 28-year-old for €50million (£42.7m).

Defender Abdou Diallo also faces an uncertain future at PSG having seen his game time limited due to the arrival of youngster Nuno Mendes.

Central midfielder Rafinha has also played very little this season and could be moved on this January. Layvin Kurzawa signed a contract until 2024 during the pandemic, but the full-back faces little chance of featuring with the arrival of Hakimi.

Other names expected to be on the chop list includes Sergio Rico, Colin Dagba and Eric Junior Dina-Ebimbe.

In a bid to secure a Champions League trophy, the Parisians have recruited a number of high profile names as Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Donnarumma all joined over the summer.

They have qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League but will now look to cut down the team members before February when the Round of 16 starts.
