Manchester United’s Premier League match against Brentford scheduled for Tuesday night has now been cancelled, MySportDab reports.

This match has been postponed due to Covid-19 outbreak in the Manchester United squad.

The English Premier League Board announced it’s decision after United requested a postponement amid virus spread concerns.

The Red Devils closed all first-team activities at the Carrington headquarters and cancelled training sessions on Monday to limit the risk of further infections.

On Sunday, a number of players and staff tested positive at Manchester United.

A Premier League statement said: ‘The Premier League Board has now agreed to postpone Brentford FC’s match against Manchester United.

‘The decision was taken due to guidance from medical advisers because of an ongoing Covid-19 outbreak in the Manchester United’s squad.

‘First-team operations at Manchester United’s Carrington Training Complex have been halted to help control the outbreak.

‘The League wishes all staffs and players with Covid-19 a quick recovery. The postponed fixture will be played on a rearranged date.’

Manchester United also released a statement, which said: ‘Due to positive LFT Covid-19 test results among the staffs and players, the outbreak needs more surveillance.

‘Given the cancellation of training and the health of players and staffs being the priority, we requested the match be postponed.

‘Manchester United regrets any inconvenience to Brentford FC and to the fans of the clubs.’

Brentford Vs Manchester United is the second Premier League match to be postponed over the last seven days.
