Sadio Mane scored a late penalty as Senegal beat Zimbabwe 1-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations 2022 group stages, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

Both teams had it good in terms of keeping it clean at the back as nothing could go past them with the Senegalese doing more of the attacking.

Zimbabwe had to make sure their defending and composure was good as the first half carried on with them being pressured all through by their opponent.

Senegal Zimbabwe

Senegal dominated things but their problem was making it count in the match which wasn’t an easy one for them despite Sadio Mane leading their attack.

More opportunities but nothing happened as they approached the final minutes left to be played in the first half which still couldn’t provide any goal.

The first half of the match finally came to an end with Senegal 0-0 Zimbabwe as they both headed inside for the break with a barren scoreline.

Second Half Report

The second half started off with the same pace as it ended in the first 45 minutes which saw both teams pushing to take the lead.

Senegal still had more of the ball possession as they pushed forward looking to make it count as they approached the 50th minute mark.

Zimbabwe were okay to see the scoreline remain 0-0 as they continued to keep things good with hopes of them getting a breakthrough which would mean so much to them.

The match was over 70 minutes gone and still nothing to separate both teams in the Africa Cup of Nations encounter going down in Cameroon.

Sadio Mane gave his country the lead in the 90th minute plus added time after stepping up to convert from the penalty spot to make things 1-0.

The match ended with Senegal 1-0 Zimbabwe after 90 minutes which saw the Senegalese taking all three points.
