Manchester United have been linked with a various players ahead of this summer transfer window, MySportDab reports.

But Ed Woodward has warned that clubs might not spend big because of the coronavirus crisis.

The Red Devils are very keen to improve their squad and challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

However, Woodward has said the football world will face a difficult challenge when everything returns.

All matches are currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic with no assurance on when football will return.

MySportDab understands this also means United may not spend over £100million on in the summer amid links Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

“Nobody should underestimate the scale of challenge facing the football world,” said Woodward.

“It would be different from ‘business as usual’ for any clubs, including us, in the summer transfer market.

“Our priority remains the success of the team, but we need to still understand the impact across the industry, which includes the transfer window, and financial issues, before everything can return back to normality.

“I cannot ignore the fact that speculation around transfers of some many players for millions of pounds this summer seems ignorant.

“It’s important to also acknowledge the part played by our successful business in allowing us to fulfil our responsibilities.”

Manchester United are desperate to finish in the top four which would help the club attract their top transfer targets even if they spend less than expected.
