Football fans have expressed their frustration at Cristiano Ronaldo missing a penalty in the match against Middlesbrough, MySportDab reports.
Ronaldo was given the opportunity to give United a 1-0 lead in the FA Cup match on Friday after a foul on Pogba.
However, Ronaldo played the ball wide of goal, leaving thousands of fans at the Old Trafford shocked.
But, Middlesbrough 9,000 fans celebrated wildly after the surprise miss.
On Twitter, football fans did not waste time mocking Ronaldo at all.
After the miss, a fan wrote: ‘He is completely finished.’
Another Twitter fan wrote: ‘Penaldo missed what he loves today.’
A Manchester United fan tweeted: ‘Nobody should miss that from 12 yards. His wages should be deducted for this.’
There were thousands of other tweets like that as Cristiano Ronaldo went viral on Twitter.
‘Can we now laugh at Ronaldo,’ one fan wrote.
However, Today is his birthday and it did not start well for him.
Jadon Sancho scored a few minutes later to give Manchester United a 1-0 lead before half time.
But, Boro scored for Middlesbrough in the second half to equalise.
They held on till full time and after extra time as the match headed to penalties.
Manchester United lost the penalty shootout and have now crashed dumped out of the competition.
