FT: Chelsea 2-1 Palmeiras, Blues Win FIFA Club World Cup! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Kai Havertz extra time penalty saw Chelsea beating Palmeiras 2-1 to win the FIFA Club World Cup, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The game started with both clubs pushing forward to get the lead as it kicked off pretty well which was evenly matched between them as it carried on in the first half.

Chelsea started off with total dominance against their opponent as they pushed forward through ever possible attacking opportunity trying to score the opening goal which failed to happen despite how close they came.

More opportunities were created as the first half carried on as Palmeiras began to create some opportunities of their own which wasn’t going well, but thanks to good defending they were able to deal with it.

Nothing changed as the first half progressed and it ended with Chelsea 0-0 Palmeiras with both sides going inside for the break with a goalless draw.

Second Half Report

The second half of the encounter from both sides were evenly balanced going forward and defending as they showed so much quality which saw just one goal being scored.

Romelu Lukaku scored the opening goal in the 55th minute which saw a bullet header coming in after a good delivery from Callum Hudson Odoi to make the scoreline 1-0 for Chelsea.

It was more of the opportunities coming as Raphael Veiga scored in the 64th minute from the penalty spot which handed Palmeiras a 1-1 leveler as things progressed.

The match ended with Chelsea 1-1 Palmeiras which saw them both heading inside after no winner for 90 minutes with extra time getting to be the decider between them going forward.

Extra Time Report

It was a good one for both teams, but the Blues did more of the pressing in the extra time which went on paying off for them.

Chelsea looked good all through first half of the extra time which saw Christian Pulisic hitting the cross bar from a strike.

Palmeiras conceded a penalty which Kai Havertz scored as the match ended with 2-1 giving the Blues the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in history.
