English Premier League clubs are ready to finish the suspended 2019-20 season amid the coronavirus crisis, MySportDab reports.
All Premier League clubs had a meeting on Friday afternoon to discuss plans for the season.
Some European leagues like French Ligue 1 have decided to cancel their season and PSG declared Champions.
All EPL clubs were shown a new confirmed schedule today and June 8 remains the target date for the season to restart.
However, The Premier League has confirmed in a new statement that clubs are determined to resolve the season.
It read: “At today’s meeting of Premier League Shareholders, clubs spoken about possible steps to resume the 2019/20 season when it is okay and safe to do so.
“The thoughts of all remain with everyone affected by the COVID-19 virus.
“Also, the Premier League’s main priority is the safety and health of players, club staffs, managers, coaches, fans and the whole community.
“The Premier League and clubs are working on new plans forward and will only resume training with Government guidance, under medical advice and after consulting both players and coaches.
“No decisions were made today at the Shareholders’ meeting and clubs expressed views on the information provided about “Project Restart”.
“It was agreed that the LMA, PFA, players and managers are key and will be further consulted.
“The clubs also confirmed their commitment to finish the 2019/20 season which maintains integrity of the competition and welcome the Government’s support.”
