With title rivals Barcelona slippery  to a 2-0 defeat to Valencia on Saturday, Zidane’s men earned  a difficult  victory over a Valladolid side that came into the game unbeaten in 3 league matches.

Chances were few and much between at either end and also the points looked doubtless to be shared when Karim Benzema missed from point-blank range with solely Valladolid goalkeeper Jordi Masip to beat.

But nacho arrived within the box to head home with twelve minutes left and place his side within the driving seat at an important stage within the title race.
