Victor Osimhen had not had the best of his career in Napoli. He had spent two seasons with the Italian side. His spell with the club had been marred with injuries.

MySportDab learns that Paolo Maldini, AC Milan’s sports director, had developed an interest in the 23-year-old as age is no longer on the side of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Maldini is said to be interested in infusing more young and vibrant strikers into AC Milan’s attacking line-up next season, with the Nigerian striker top in their list.

“AC Milan is officially now in the race to sign Napoli’s number nine, to reinforce the team for next season.”

Despite myriads of injury challenges for the 23-year-old, Victor Osimhen was awarded 2021/2022 Serie A young player of the season.

The Nigerian international beat top prolific and great rising stars such as Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca, Leao of AC Milan and others to clinch the award.

Osimhen had made 51 appearances for Napoli, scoring 24 goals and was regarded as a goal machine for the Nigeria U-17 squad scoring 14 goals in 7 appearances for the Golden Eaglets.
