CAF Awards 2022 nominee list has been made available by the governing body of football associations in Africa.

The first part of the awards is mainly from the men’s category, which was made available by CAF yesterday afternoon.

The nominees for the Women categories will be made available following the conclusion of this year’s WAFCON.

The tournament kicks off 2nd of July with Nigeria Super Falcons looking to defend their title for the 10th time.

Last time winner Assisat Oshoala will lead the list alongside South Africa Katlana, who have both been impressive.

The CAF Awards 2022 nominees ceremony was held yesterday with the boards and some legends gathering to make the revealing.

The nominee’s list is based on players’ performance from September 2021 to June 2022 for their respective clubs and country.

Winners will confirm by a voting panel that is open to the CAF committee, the media, head coaches of National teams, and captains.

It won’t be an easy process for mainly the player of the year, which have so many names who made their 2021-22 season a blast.

The Senegal national team is with most names making that list of player of the year awards.

Last time winner Mohamed Salah is gunning for the award again this year against Sadio Mane.

This category is only for African club players who play their trades within the continent.

Players from Al Ahly dominate the list, with more names coming from the Egyptian club.

Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri claims a spot on the list following his impressive performance for his country.

Nigeria has just one name on the list Akinkumi Amoo who was impressive for his side as they won the League title.

AFCON-winning coach Aliou Cisse headline the list for coach of the year male in the CAF Awards 2022.

He helped Senegal to their AFCON title, which wasn’t an easy one for them, but they came out victorious in the end.

Other coaches from African clubs also made a list with Al Ahly’s manager, who helped his team to the CAF Champions League.

The CAF Awards 2022 National team of the year is a shock to many, knowing Nigeria didn’t make a list.

The Super Eagles are amongst the top five nations in Africa, but shockingly they were excluded from the list.

Senegal is the favorite to win the award base on their performance in winning the AFCON title.

CAF Awards 2022 Ceremony Date

The CAF Awards 2022 will hold on 21 July 2022, where the winners will be official.

The event will happen in Rabat, Morocco, no time has been confirmed for now, but it should hold during the nighttime.

The nominee list for the women category will be added by CAF on July 5th as the WAFCON will be going on as of then.

The award ceremony is also going down ahead of the conclusion of the women’s football tournament.

CAF will reveal more details; at the CAF Awards 2022 ahead of the showdown in which the winners will be known to the public by the governing body.
