Manchester United Coach Erik ten Hag has now described his team as ‘rubbish’ after a shocking 4-0 loss at Brentford, MySportDab reports.

Ten Hag was left angry as United conceded four goals in 35 minutes against Brentford on Saturday evening.

This is United’s seventh straight Loss in the Premier league away defeat.

The Red Devils are now at the bottom of the table for the first time in many years.

Speaking about the match, Ten Hag said: ‘It’s completely rubbish, very poor, we must have higher standards than this.

Ten Hag has now become the first Manchester United Coach in 100 years to lose his first two matches in charge.

He added: ‘The good players could have done better.’

Ten Hag made three substitutions after the first-half and said: ‘I would have changed six players if it were possible.

‘You can have a plan but it all just went into the bin. I can bring up reasons but it’s all excuses. At the top we must deliver and we failed to do that.’

Goalkeeper David de Gea has publicly apologised for his error that lead to Brentford’s opening goal.

He also made another error which led to Brentford’s second goal after a poor pass in defence.

After those two goals, United completely fell apart.

‘You can’t win a game with mistakes like this,’ said Ten Hag.

‘It’s difficult for me, and was very surprising to see it happen. The team must take full responsibility, and be ready for the next battle.

‘We must take responsibility on the pitch as a team and as individuals we failed to do that. But the manager is also at fault.’

Goalkeeper David De Gea felt very bad about his error for Brentford’s opener and the second goal.

‘I cost the team three points today,’ said the Spanish keeper.

‘I should have done far better with the first shot.’

He continued: ‘All we can do now is to work hard even more.’
