First Half
The first half started with Real Madrid dominating from the beginning cresting some series of chances.
The Merengues opened were nevertheless less clinical in front of goal as they wanted a series of chances.

Almeria sat back to threaten the visitors with counterattacks and was dangerous when charging forward.
It was a shocking goal for the home, who capitalized on one of the few chances to score an early goal.
A 7th-minute strike by Ramazani with an assist fron Eguaras swung the hosts into a surprise 1-0 lead.
The visitors immediately pushed harder for an equalizer but could not find one as Almeria retreated into their half to defend the 1-0 lead.

Second Half
The second half began with the Merengues intent on overturning a 1-0 deficit conceded song early in the game.
It was more of a one-sided game with Real Madrid dominating the game from every angle but converting the few chances created was a problem.
There was a breakthrough in the 61st minute as Lucas struck to give the visitors a much-needed equaliser.
19 minutes later, it was former Bayern Munich and Austria international who scored to give the visitors the lead.
