Karim Benzema has been named UEFA player of the year for 2022 after an incredible season, MySportDab reports.

The Real Madrid striker beat his fellow teammate and Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne to win the award.

His performance during the 2021-22 season was impeccable as he scored loads of goals helping them to win the UEFA Champions League title.

He had the most votes beating other nominees who had their names on the three-person list following their outstanding performance last season.

He has now earned a deserved reward for all his efforts putting towards the team as he is running on the final leg of his career, having turned 30 plus.

Karim Benzema will be looking to help Real Madrid perform another back-to-back champion League win as they know their opponent for this season.

Their group isn’t that bad based on the quality in which they can come out as a top and qualify for the next round of games to come.

There is a lot expected from Karim Benzema, who is committed to helping his team become world Champions.

The France International is also in the run to win the Ballon d’Or Awards for the first time in his football career having made an impressive stats over Robert Lewandowski.
