Manchester United Friendly VS Stoke City Cancelled After Coach Tested Positive For Coronavirus (Details)

Manchester United were ready to play against stoke city in a friendly game but the match was cancelled after Stoke City Coach Michael O’Neill tested positive for the coronavirus, MySportDab reports. 

The Red Devils were meant to face the Championship club on Tuesday.

However, immediately Coach O’Neill tested positive for Covid-19, the match was abandoned.

Manchester United players such as Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, were in a different part of Carrington on lockdown to protect them.

A Red Devils official that no United players came in contact with anybody from Stoke City.

A source at the training ground told the Mirror: “United’s players were almost ready for the game but suddenly there was chaos at the training ground when the positive test was confirmed.

“Stoke were immediately rushed out of Carrington very quickly. United’s officials didn’t think twice, they made Stoke leave as quickly as possible.

“Fortunately, when they arrived, Stoke players were taken to the “bio bubble” area which is where players are tested for the virus.

“Thanks of that they did not see or come into contact with any of United’s players or squad staffs.

“It could have been more difficult but United’s guidelines were absolutely perfect and prevented what could have cause a big problem with the Premier League set to resume.”

When they arrived at Carrington, Stoke’s players and staffs discovered their Covid-19 results which were taken in on on Monday ahead of football’s return.

Stoke officials then told United, who immediately called off the friendly.
