Denmark and other European countries have threatened to quit FIFA MySportDab reports.

The decision follows the ongoing row between FIFA and some European member associations over the controversial OneLove Armband.

Recall that some Western FAs who qualified for the World Cup had reiterated their resolve to wear OneLove Armbands during FIFA World Cup games to protest Qatar’s handling of human rights issues in the country.

The concerned FAs have asked their team captains to wear the OneLove Armband as a sign of solidarity with marginalized and discriminated communities in the Qatari society, especially the LGBT+ communities.

The decision of the FAs collided with FIFA’s rule on apparel use, and the team captains faced threats of being sanctioned during games.

FIFA took concrete measures to stop the plan. They wrote all FAs participating in the World Cup to “focus on football” and keep politics away from football.

Before the commencement of the World Cup, FIFA Issued an alternative armband to replace the OneLove armband.

They also threatened to suspend erring captains that failed to follow the order to abandon the OneLove Armband.

Due to the threat of having their team captains suspended, The FAs backed off the plan as FIFA finally had their way.

However, reports reaching us have confirmed that the faceoff between the FA and FIFA on the OneLove armband has taken another dimension, with the disgruntled FAs planning to quit both the UEFA and FIFA following the incident (Source: The Athletic)

The Athletic revealed that the concerned FAs are ready to discuss the possibility of withdrawing from FIFA alongside other UEFA nations amid the ongoing row over the #OneLove armbands.

Leading the horde of the FAs to break away from FIFA and UEFA is Denmark, who opened their World Cup campaign with a goalless draw with Morocco.

The decision was confirmed by the Danish FA CEO Jakob Jensen in a press conference on Wednesday.

Jensen reiterated the anger the decision of FIFA has caused and their resolve to part ways and not vote for Gianni Infantino in his reelection bid.
