Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Mason Greenwood for his physical transformation during the coronavirus lockdown, MySportDab reports.
Greenwood has impressed for Manchester United since being given a chance in the first-team by Solskjaer.
The 18-year-old has scored 12 goals from 16 starts by the Norwegian Coach.
But instead of relaxing during the three-month break, Greenwood has improved his physicality and gained some muscles.
And Solskjaer is convinced his young lad will benefit from getting bigger during the football break.
‘Mason is a young lad,’ Solskjaer told the Manchester Evening News.
‘He’s just 18 and this lockdown has done him all the good because, at his age, they do develop more and Mason’s looking more like a man now, so it will definitely help him.
‘Sometimes ago he was a kid. Now in training, he can use his strength more and he has performed well over the three or four weeks since we started training again.
‘Hiss instinct in front of goal has improved and now he has the muscle to tackle defenders.
‘I am not sure it was planned but the fitness coaches have worked very well with him.
‘He has got the rest after his first season with the first team, He is looking good.’
Marcus Rashford’s return and extension of Odion Ighalo’s loan deal could limit Greenwood’s place in the starting team before the end of the season.
Manchester United play Tottenham on Friday night in a crucial match for Champions League qualification.
They are fifth on the Premier League table and were unbeaten in 11 games before the lockdown.
