Harry Maguire has now revealed his decision amid links to Aston Villa this January, MySportDab reports.
The English defender has decided against joining Aston Villa in the January window, despite reports he could leave Old Trafford.
Maguire and his agent were spotted at a restaurant near Aston Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training ground on Saturday.
This started the rumours that the England star could be leaving Old Trafford.
Coach Erik ten Hag has started to make his authority known in the Red Devils’ dressing-room by imposing the new ‘Ronaldo Rule’ salary cap.
The salary cap is aimed at cracking down on bad behaviour, but Maguire is still wanted to provide defensive cover.
Despite missing the starting XI, Maguire’s future at Man United is not any problem for the club.
He has been heavily criticised over the last 18 months after some poor form for his club, but played well for England at the World Cup.
However, he still can’t break into the first team at United, with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane the favourites now.
Meanwhile, Maguire is obviously the third-choice option at Old Trafford, and the Red Devils are still playing in four competitions this season.
He played in the second half of Friday’s 3-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup third round.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa have been performing very well since ex-Arsenal coach Emery took over at Villa Park.
The Villans are currently 11th in the Premier League table, having battled relegation under Steven Gerrard.
