Lionel Messi’s father Jorge is now reported to be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for talks with Al-Hilal about his son playing there, MySportDab reports.

The Saudi Club are willing to offer Lionel Messi a staggering £245m-a-year contract.

Messi returned to football action on Wednesday with a goal for PSG after winning the World Cup for Argentina in 2022.

However, his future at PSG remains uncertain right now.

His current contract is due to expire in June and, he might have assured PSG that he will sign an extension.

But now, reports have emerged that Al-Hilal want to bring him to Saudi Arabia and reignite the Cristiano Ronaldo rivalry.

According to Mundo Deportivo, They are ready to offer him a contract worth $300m-a-year (£245m) to bring him to Saudi Arabia.

MySportDab understands that Messi would consider the move, despite reports that he could extend his PSG contract.

Nasser Al-Attiyah, Emir of Qatar’s family member, has sparked new speculation after saying: ‘Messi’s next club after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, will be in Saudi Arabia.’

Al-Hilal are currently banned from signing players due to some issues so they must wait until the next transfer window.

According to The New Arab Newspaper, Messi’s father has arrived in the Saudi capital to discuss the transfer and revive his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo joined Saudi Arabia Club Al-Nassr last month to earn £175m per year at the club.

Should Messi accept Al-Hilal’s offer, he will earn more than Ronaldo and also play against his old rival.

Messi and Ronaldo have had an historic rivalry playing against each other for Barcelona and Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018.

Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr seemed to have ended their rivalry, but Messi could now join him in Saudi Arabia.

Matches between Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal are regarded as Saudi Arabia’s version of El Clasico.
