Manchester United owners the Glazers family are reportedly planning a shock shock U-turn on Manchester United takeover, MySportDab reports.

The American owners, who have been in charge at the club for 18 years decided to put up Manchester United for sale last year.

They announced a decision to hand off the club following anti-Glazers sentiments that sprang up in the Manchester United fan base.

Since announcing the decision to sell the club, some interested parties eager to buy and invest in the club have emerged.

The Glazers’ handed over the takeover process to an American merchant Group, the Raine Group, to oversee the sale process and mobbed up bids for the club.

Raine Group had set a soft deadline of February 17 for all interested parties to submit their bid for the club.

British richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe was among the potential new owners, who had submitted their bid for the club, including Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani’s bid.

While the takeover process was expected to be expedited after some bids were mobbed up ahead of the soft deadline set by Raine Group, a new report have emerged the Glazers are planning a shock U-turn on their bid to sell the club.

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United share prices dropped by 13% on Monday after sources close to the Glazers revealed they are considering reversing their decision to sell the club and still stay at the helm of affairs.

Meanwhile, apart from outright takover bids, the Glazers are interested in investment bids which will see them still share in the fortunes of the club by retaining their ownership.
